Can anybody out there tell me why my DV10 player has suddenly stopped reading DVD's? It plays Cd's fine, and the lamp is still strong.

I can't figure it out for the life of me.

This is the problem with combination DVD/PJ as DVD tend to go out before the PJ. Try a laser lens cleaning disc. Otherwise you may be stuck with using an external DVD player although it won't look as good as the builtin player which has scan line mapping to this PJ (as stated by others here on this board).

May be a dumb question but have you tried another dvd? Reason I ask is that it's possible that the dvd you're trying is for some other region and the dv10 is not region-free.

Otherwise, depending upon when you got the dv10, I believe the dvd player has a two year warrenty period so you might want to hit the optoma site and fire off an email their way.
