If you like online play, excellent graphics, cool racetracks, mud in your face, but horrible load times - you have to pick up Motorstorm.

VF is fun.

But given the choice Motorstorm wins without a doubt.

Load times are atrocious, but Motorstorm is a lot of fun. If you do the same SP race over and over then there is no load, but other than that it is basically ridiculous.

Funny, I would recommend Tekken 5 DR over both of them, especially if you have someone to play against. Basically no loading in Tekken, really is a pleasure to play.

How about Tekken and Motorstorm instead of VF5?

If you generally like Tekken then this is a must buy. Tons of characters, high-res backgrounds, you could spend hours in ghost-mode.

Motor Storm, for sure.

I would get both. But since you can't I liked VF5 because it is fun but there is a learning curve or otherwise, you will become bored and wonder why you got the game. I moved up to Dan 5 but have more gray hair! The fighters become more intense and you have to practice moves about every day. Then it is a rewarding game. IF the game had on-line fighting, it would be a great game. If you like on line play and racing format, motorstorm is a blast!

Does your tv have a 720P mode ? If not motorstorm will be running in 480p
on the other hand VF5 runs in 720p and can upscale to 1080.

VF5 is godly. best game on the PS3 IMO (or any other current console for that matter).

But if you dont like fighting games the choice is obvious...
Likewise, if you dont like arcade off-road racers, the same is true...

I've never played VF. If you put Motorstorm up against a new, next gen Capcom fighting game, it would be a tough pick for me. As much as I love Motorstorm, I think the game will get old fast unless they add to the online play.

At family get togethers, the 2 games that get played the most are Madden and Street Fighter.

Motorstorm is cool, but VF5 is ten times more in depth. Course, I have both so its a moot point for me.

Not even a hesitation...Motorstorm. In fact, for me Virtua Fighter was a painful game to play. I ended up returning it 2 days before it was due back to Blockbuster. Tekken 5 DR is another story. I was up till 3:00 AM playing it last night and had to force myself to turn it off. I've got 300 wins with Hiehachi alone. Loads of fun!

I bought VF5 when it came out, sold it a few days ago and got Motorstorm. VF5 is not for everyone.

Have to agree here. VF5 is fluff on top of VF4.. Motorstorm..is ok. Online play is cool But the game gets old quick. Throw in the fact that it doesnt have a two player mode (offline) Neither of these have the replay value that I like im my 60 dollar purchases (good thing I rented VF5) and I can sell motorstorm to my 16year Brother in law for 30 bucks. Just about enough to get God Of War II. Tekken 5 is pretty good for 20 bucks. But to drop 120 bucks on VF5 and motorstorm. Not me.

Well Fighting games are a smallish niche and VF is an even smaller one due to its complexity. VF is certainly a more full featured fighter than MS is a full featured racer.

Its like comparing MS to R:FoM. With the wild popularity of FPS I expect sales of MS would never dent those of R:FoM.
