View Full Version : PS3 and XBOX, and TIVO Icons Needed!

I just finished programming my MX-3000 (AWESOME REMOTE) and really need only 4 "special" icons:

XBOX, PS3, TIVO THUMBS DOWN, TIVO THUMBS UP, and maybe a "TIVO PERSON" Icon.
The TIVO MAN icon would make a tremendous difference as would the PS3 and XBOX!
Does anyone know where I can find these?
THANKS!

I would use the Xbox logo.

For the Tivo the tivo logo will work, then overlay the thumbs sign

I don't know what to use to symbolize for the PS3 though

Another method to get icons into your system is one I found recommended on remotecentral and I think it was posted by URC's Dale Crawford. I have tried it recently and it worked for nicely. First, I went to Adobe's website and downloaded a trial version of Adobe (Macromedia) Fireworks, which is a very easy to use and a powerful image editor. (I imagine other products would work too). I then went to the websites of the logos I needed (i.e. local television channel's, etc.) and found the logo/picture I wanted. I right clicked on the logo and the window came up, I chose "Save picture as" option. Saved it. Then opened it in Fireworks. Cut and trimmed it to get rid of any excess graphics. Then resized/cropped it to the size I needed (i.e. 52 x 39 for tv station buttons). I saved them as PNG files, which worked very nicely in the MX 3000.

I use Google's Image Search tools and can usually find the graphics I need.

Thanks. Good suggestion for finding graphics. Very quick to find some items. Looks like I would then need to download, resize and save the image in whatever preferred format I want to use.

I don't mean to come off like a Google Fanboy - I'm just a fan of "free" but Google's Picasa is a great free software to manage, browse and edit your images. I have a graphics background so I use Photoshop a lot but Picasa is great for image management and quick edits and it's easy to use (my wife swears by it).

For the MX3000 I save all custome images as PNG. They look great, allow transparency and creat small file sizes

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give that a try. I too have found that Google has some nice free tools.
