There were some questions way back when that an inverted mount might not be ideal. Has anyone determined if there is any tradeoff on an inverted vs upright deployment of the PJ?

Chief makes a overhead cage mount that allows a ceiling install with an upright orientatation. It's not as clean but would work and it might make it easier to put up and take down etc given the larger size of the JVC. Any thoughts of advantages and disadvantages? A universal solution for mounting upright LCD/DLP projectors, the LCDA Series Mount holds projectors on an adjustable tray and allows you to tighten the mount around your projector for a secure fit. The LCDA provides you with Chief’s classic independent adjustments for quick, easy registration. Use the LCDA Series Mount when you want to install a portable projector in the ceiling and take it down frequently for traveling."

Honestly not sure. For most projectors, if the image has to be above the center of the screen (assuming the pj has lens shift) then they usually have to be inverted. In the case of the JVC it states +/- 80%, so that tells me that it literally is identical whether inverted or not. I would mention that the cage type mounts are ugly and bulky though, so inverting may be better in that regard.

I dont think it matters. I remember seeing an illustration in the manual that showed there was no offset built in. so you can put the projector any way you want.

Is there a downloadable manual yet?
