I currently have the ps3 running on a Samsung LNS3251D and I am having problems when it comes to quality of color and after images. On HDMI there seems to be a lack of color quantity that is extremely noticeable if you see how it looks in component as well as there is an after image of text when there are any black backgrounds. I just bought the tv back in January and it is still under warranty so if it is a defect I could get it fixed. I tried as best I could to take the images under the same conditions so you could see the effect -

Component:

(Normally this screen should be all black, this even happens with text on this screen)

Also there seems to be a slight text shadow in Component but it is not noticable unless looked for; that issue does not come up in hdmi. If anyone could advise me on what to do that would be great. This is my first HDTV and it has been leaving me confused at every turn

try setting your brightness lower. the brightness in your HDMI pic is far too bright, which is why it looks washed out.

for future reference, make sure you calibrate your TV for each device, or even each connection you use (HDMI, Component etc). in most cases, you will need different settings for different devices/connections.

That is one of the problems that I am having on this tv. They give you presets which you can only edit and then as soon as you switch to game mode it only has one preset available across all devices you set to game mode.
