Has anyone had any success making their own masking panels? Ones that look great and can take a 16:9 image to 2:35:1 and look perfect?

I will be building my screen into a false screenwall and love the idea of masking, but less so the cost of the professional pre-fab systems.

Look in the 2:35 section. Someone posted there DIY masking solution and I thought it looked pretty good.

www.htiq.com Have a chat with Don. Best value out there. This has been covered a number of times in the 2.35 forum. There are other options, such as Screen research and Stewart, but you will pay BIG $$$ for the luxury.

Scott: As others have pointed out this has been covered in a number of threads in screen, DIY screens and CIH (2:35:1) forum. When doing a search use advance search, title search only, limit search words to one or two...make sure to highlight the appropriate forum from the list to the right. Also, don't forget to search in the archives too.

PS: I too can vouch for Don's products at HTIQ. Great guy and very good product for the money....my guess is you could do something on the cheap, but unless you are a DIY guru, you won't have as nice as outcome for the money with Don's masking products.
