Normally I never purchase extended warranties except for certain items. I live in a fully tiled house so when the remote drops it does not hit carpet. Does ANYONE recommend purchasing an extended warranty for the MX-3000?
THANKS!

Where are you buying it from?
IIRC the 3000 has a 3 year manufacture's warranty

Sounds like an MX-850 would work better in your environment. Those things are bulletproof.

The mfr warranty is not going to cover neglect or abuse such as the remote falling onto a tile floor but I understand that some extended warranties are unconditional and would still cover this kind of damagae. If that is in fact the case it may make sense for your position but otherwise I am opposed to the idea of paying for piece of paper.

I suggest tethering the remote to your main seating position. LOL

Does anyone know of any websites that offer warranties to cover components such as high end remotes?
I almost bit on one from Ebay but it does not cover damage from "misuse" or dropping the remote. Lets face it, the damn things will NEVER break if they aren't dropped. I owned a Pronto Pro for 6 years and the damn thing dropped dozens of times. Still works PERFECTLY.
