Since the last (minor) update to my PS3, my system has been freezing up while playing RFoM on-line. There does not seem to be any consistency to it. It has done it in the middle of games, at the end of games, etc., etc. Last night, I switched from a wired network connection to a wireless one and it froze up twice within 30 mins. When this happens, the only thing I can do to get the system going again is to shut down the PS3 and restart it. The sixaxis does not work, wired or wireless. I don't spend as much time watching movies as playing on-line, but I have not had any trouble with movies.
Is anyone else having this issue? Should I be concerned about my PS3 - is it worth calling Sony?

I locked up twice last night myself. I thought it was just me, but each night it has done it at least once. Sometimes I can go for an hour before it locks up. You're right I only noticed it since the patch.
For the first month when I first started playing R:FOM on-line, my controller would freeze up at least once every three hours. My guy would lock into a direction and just keep on going for about 10 seconds. The past couple weeks, however, it hasn't locked up at all. :D No idea why it stopped for me, but I'm very happy about it. I also haven't had any movie freeze ups either.
I have a wired connection, that I run directly from my modem. I don't have a router to split my internet with my computer yet. Apparently, routers are causing some of the glitches with Resistance on-line. When somebody's using the computer at the same time you're playing, lagging and disappearing are reported to be somewhat common.
Thanks for the replies and thoughts. I had a two more instances last night within about 15 mins or so. The first time I got a message that the network connection failed, but the machine did not freeze up. I never saw the "network connection failed" message before. I was wireless at the time. The second time I did not get a message about the network connection failing, but the machine froze up, controller wouldn't work....
I switched back to wired. I have less issues with a wired connection.
I wonder if the freezing up issue is b/c of the network connection or some software problem? I guess it could be hardware, but it started after the last software update.
