View Full Version : Any info on New Line Releases Darrylvideo 03-13-07, 01:01 PM New line has some good titles that i would buy on hd dvd. Is there any news on New Line releasing anything soon. I would enjoy watching the blade and lord of the rings movies in hd. Brad1963 03-13-07, 01:40 PM I think the rumor is we should either know New Line's Hi Def plans in June or they will release titles that month. Not sure which is true. getme 03-13-07, 11:38 PM I for one would love the original TMNT in hd. spinksjinx 03-14-07, 12:00 AM getme-Thats what I was thinking New Line has some solid movies I wouldnt mind seeing on HD-DVD from the 80s..TMNT rings a bell as does the Nightmare on Elm Street series. tronn 03-14-07, 12:09 AM just to be sure new line has currently sided with BluRay right? So as not to expect anything on HD-DVD just yet. Add: http://www.newline.com/press/2004/1129_dvdformat.shtml my bad! should'a google'd it before posting. Well I'll be d@mned! They seem like a good enough studio. I know I'll like's me some Lord of the Rings (even though I have 3 different package versions already, another one can't hurt!) eizenga13 03-14-07, 12:14 AM Wrong New Lines Parent Company is Warner... They are Neutral. BassTek 03-14-07, 12:51 AM Mortal Kombat! getme 03-14-07, 12:57 AM The Austin Powers Series especially the first) was considered by many reference quality on sd dvd I'l love to see what could be done on HD-DVD Schils 03-14-07, 07:15 AM I'd like to see Se7en myself, the SD looks and sounds GREAT, an HD version would be sweet. :) Mr. Cinema 03-14-07, 07:26 AM I thought they were doing 2 things: waiting until Q3 for release and TotalHD. I'm guessing their first batch will include Austin Powers, Se7en, Blade, Rush Hour, and a few others. I'd like to also see the Final Destination series, Wedding Crashers, Snakes on a Plane, Texas Chainsaw Massacre '03, Nightmare on Elm Street series, Freddy vs Jason, and Pan's Labyrinth sometime this year. hd nOOb 03-14-07, 09:54 AM I thought they were doing 2 things: waiting until Q3 for release and TotalHD. WOW im gonna need a night job  jorgerod 03-14-07, 11:51 AM getme-Thats what I was thinking New Line has some solid movies I wouldnt mind seeing on HD-DVD from the 80s..TMNT rings a bell as does the Nightmare on Elm Street series. The first one was good. The Second one got ruined when they danced with Vanilla Ice. Mortal Kombat! The First One. The Second stunk to high heaven and I still have a bone to pick for such an Absurdly crappy depiction of Raiden on both movies Jorge Schlotkins 03-14-07, 04:13 PM "Booooo - I can't take no more of this man" - Chris Tucker Rush Hour 2. And that's what I want. RH2. Now. crakerhead 03-14-07, 04:23 PM I for one would love the original TMNT in hd. second that! maybe when the new one comes out they'll release the orignals? Brad1963 03-14-07, 04:27 PM Se7en, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, Blade, Dark City, Final Destination, Friday, The Mask, The Player, Rush Hour, Spawn were once rumored as some of the first New Line titles. I think Wedding Crashers will be an early title since it was such a huge hit for them. TheCrow1994 03-14-07, 04:36 PM I'd love to see Dark City on hd dvd. :) sharkshark 03-14-07, 04:41 PM ..LOTR was claimed in one of the HTF roundtables to contain 7.1 audio, maybe they're waiting for both TotalHD discs (bd/hd flippers) and for the audio codec fun to stabilize. jrusnak 03-15-07, 06:32 PM I'd love to see Dark City on hd dvd. :) Me too, particularly since it was rumored to be a "Director's Cut." Till then, I have to make do with the HD version (gorgeous!) from STARZ. TheCrow1994 03-15-07, 06:49 PM Me too, particularly since it was rumored to be a "Director's Cut." Till then, I have to make do with the HD version (gorgeous!) from STARZ. Awww....you are lucky! We don't get Starz HD here. Sisko197 03-15-07, 09:49 PM Snakes. On a. Plane. That is all. GoBlu 03-15-07, 10:03 PM I thought they were doing 2 things: waiting until Q3 for release and TotalHD. I thought I read that day and date releases will kick it off first. rover2002 03-29-07, 09:38 PM Id love to see : Seven Blade Pleasantville Dark City The Corruptor The Cell Wedding Crashers Dumb & Dumber Frequency Boogie Nights Wag the Dog Little Nicky New line is smaller than W Bros but bigger than Dreamworks. I think we can expect to see either HD-DVD first or HD/BR same day releases. I also believe they will take the BR encode from the HD-DVD encoded version (to save costs), so if the HD-DVD has IME you can bet your horses it won't be coming to BR enytime soon. tormond 03-29-07, 09:46 PM Pump up the Volume in Dolby THD would probably get me divorced (my wife HATES loud movies)..They could make it a THD disc, painted Blu with "S0NY RULEZ" stamped on it and I would be all over this. This may be one of my favorite movies of all time with one seriously killer soundtrack. (I wouldnt turn down Blade, Se7en, LOTR, Dark City etc either :) ) but since nobody seems to want to release their "a" list titles off the bat Pump up the Volume would fit the bill nicely (especially as the DVD pretty well and truly sucks) TheCuze 03-30-07, 03:02 AM Boogie Nights Magnolia Se7en Dark City Pan's Labyrinth Lord of the Rings (extended editions) Grubert 03-30-07, 03:53 AM For reference, New Line has just announced The Number 23 for July 10, available in unrated and R-rated versions, on DVD only. No hidef. FullerPanic 04-22-07, 08:15 PM I hope New Line will release many titles by end of 2007. se7ve, LOTR, Dark City, etc haulin oats 04-22-07, 09:53 PM Boogie Nights!! It's my favorite movie of all time! khwiggins2 06-07-07, 09:57 AM Any new rumors regarding New Line Cinema? I would really love to see Dark City in HD-DVD. This was a very dark movie and would look great. thalazy 06-07-07, 11:12 AM Bring on the Nightmares and I will be happy. delrmx01 06-13-07, 03:01 PM Any news on New Line releasing movies this month or any announcements releasing this year? I saw Se7en a few weeks ago on TNT HD and didn't do me justice.... I need this movie. Do we have any insiders in here? TV Casualty 06-13-07, 03:32 PM Any news on New Line releasing movies this month or any announcements releasing this year? Well, there certainly won't be anything out this month. I am starting to wonder what's up with these guys though. You would think we'd be hearing stuff before long to hype up some Fall releases. Megalith 06-13-07, 03:34 PM New Line's releases will be very impressive if they are anything like their Infinifilm releases. I want the Rush Hour movies in particular. delrmx01 06-13-07, 04:39 PM I'd like to get the wife The Notebook ;) me likes McAdams. :p Sisko197 06-13-07, 05:11 PM New Line is likely waiting for the format war to end or TotalHD to get off the ground. I'm sure if we wait long enough, rdjam will come along to tell us that New Line is actually delaying all its HD DVD titles to wait for BD-J compliance on BD players and enable true cross-platform equality. Heh. delrmx01 06-13-07, 06:08 PM Is Total HD really still around? I thought that idea was shot down? I haven't really heard of any news lately. They should've released during the same time frame as Warner. Django 06-13-07, 06:15 PM just to be sure new line has currently sided with BluRay right? Actually New line is already sided with HD DVD, their insignia is proudly displayed among HD DVD supporters in 'The Look And Sound Of Perfect' website, it is BR we need to know if they will support. But being that they are WB affiliated I would expect they would be neutral as well. Customgamer1 06-14-07, 12:34 AM Actually New line is already sided with HD DVD, their insignia is proudly displayed among HD DVD supporters in 'The Look And Sound Of Perfect' website, it is BR we need to know if they will support. But being that they are WB affiliated I would expect they would be neutral as well. Lets hope New Line is not forced to be neutral like WB and then we could get some great movies like well LOTR's for starters! Just think how many blu guys would get so mad over that. They would all have to go out and buy a A2 just to watch it :) My hopes is that New Line is HD-DVD only. Not just for LOTR'S but also a few of the other movies they have! fitprod 06-14-07, 02:35 AM We should know something by the end of July, either from Comic-Con or the VSDA Convention (Whatever it's called now...) fitprod HDTVFAN0001 06-14-07, 05:51 AM My hopes is that New Line is HD-DVD only. Not just for LOTR'S but also a few of the other movies they have! Ditto - yet another reason the surge to HD DVD will grow. |
