New line has some good titles that i would buy on hd dvd. Is there any news on New Line releasing anything soon. I would enjoy watching the blade and lord of the rings movies in hd.

I think the rumor is we should either know New Line's Hi Def plans in June or they will release titles that month. Not sure which is true.

I for one would love the original TMNT in hd.

The Austin Powers Series especially the first) was considered by many reference quality on sd dvd I'l love to see what could be done on HD-DVD

I'd like to see Se7en myself, the SD looks and sounds GREAT, an HD version would be sweet. :)

I'd like to also see the Final Destination series, Wedding Crashers, Snakes on a Plane, Texas Chainsaw Massacre '03, Nightmare on Elm Street series, Freddy vs Jason, and Pan's Labyrinth sometime this year.

The first one was good. The Second one got ruined when they danced with Vanilla Ice.

Se7en, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, Blade, Dark City, Final Destination, Friday, The Mask, The Player, Rush Hour, Spawn were once rumored as some of the first New Line titles. I think Wedding Crashers will be an early title since it was such a huge hit for them.

..LOTR was claimed in one of the HTF roundtables to contain 7.1 audio, maybe they're waiting for both TotalHD discs (bd/hd flippers) and for the audio codec fun to stabilize.

New line is smaller than W Bros but bigger than Dreamworks. I think we can expect to see either HD-DVD first or HD/BR same day releases.
I also believe they will take the BR encode from the HD-DVD encoded version (to save costs), so if the HD-DVD has IME you can bet your horses it won't be coming to BR enytime soon.

Pump up the Volume in Dolby THD would probably get me divorced (my wife HATES loud movies)..They could make it a THD disc, painted Blu with "S0NY RULEZ" stamped on it and I would be all over this. This may be one of my favorite movies of all time with one seriously killer soundtrack. (I wouldnt turn down Blade, Se7en, LOTR, Dark City etc either :) ) but since nobody seems to want to release their "a" list titles off the bat Pump up the Volume would fit the bill nicely (especially as the DVD pretty well and truly sucks)

For reference, New Line has just announced The Number 23 for July 10, available in unrated and R-rated versions, on DVD only. No hidef.

Any new rumors regarding New Line Cinema? I would really love to see Dark City in HD-DVD. This was a very dark movie and would look great.

Well, there certainly won't be anything out this month. I am starting to wonder what's up with these guys though. You would think we'd be hearing stuff before long to hype up some Fall releases.

New Line's releases will be very impressive if they are anything like their Infinifilm releases.

I want the Rush Hour movies in particular.

New Line is likely waiting for the format war to end or TotalHD to get off the ground. I'm sure if we wait long enough, rdjam will come along to tell us that New Line is actually delaying all its HD DVD titles to wait for BD-J compliance on BD players and enable true cross-platform equality.

Actually New line is already sided with HD DVD, their insignia is proudly displayed among HD DVD supporters in 'The Look And Sound Of Perfect' website, it is BR we need to know if they will support. But being that they are WB affiliated I would expect they would be neutral as well.

Lets hope New Line is not forced to be neutral like WB and then we could get some great movies like well LOTR's for starters! Just think how many blu guys would get so mad over that. They would all have to go out and buy a A2 just to watch it :)
