I am still impressed with the AM HD audio, it sounds great, what is the kpbs of AM HD? I almost think it sounds better than FM analog.

I posted on the HDT-1 forum that I, too, like the sound. KDIS was absolutely stunning today in Southern California.

Actually it is 20 Kbps for mono, and 32 kbps for stereo.

I personally think analog AM is better. I listen to a station from youngstown,Oh, it is 570 wkbn and I live in Greenville, PA and get perfect analog recepion. I have picked up that station 125 miles away in the mountains of central Pa, there is no way HD radio will make it over the mountains with out getting lost.

It is possible. You would just need a much larger loop than is provided with the radio. There is a guy that designed a large loop using PVC pipe and was getting AM stations from 700 miles away. . . I forget whom or where, but he did. I think it was a 27" loop or something like that.

Pretty impressive.

I remember whenReal Player first come out with mono at 20kbps for Internet streaming ,that it sounded almost as good as FM analog mono, better than AM analog mono.
