We all have talked to DEATH the "war", but what about the searches for blu-ray and HD DVD on Google? The worlds largest search engine?
Google HD DVD/ Blu-ray search queries (http://www.google.com/trends?q=Blu-ray%2C+HD%20DVD)
If you simply disregarded ALL other "War documents"
This one is HEAVILY supporting HD DVD... does anyone have anything to add or to help me understand why there are so many MORE searches for HD DVD on Google than Blu-ray... and please don't tell me that HD DVD users are Google users and Blu-ray users are Yahoo or Ask.com users.
Whatever the reason for the disparity, it sure isn't translating into higher HD DVD sales.
It's the more interesting format, that's all. ;)

Maybe it's because Blu-ray is everywhere and HD-DVD isn't? No advertising means people need to go looking for info! I heard Blu-ray like 3 times while watching American Idol. Mostly the Bond movie commercials!
I here Blu-ray sooo much, the thought to sell my XA1 and buy a PS3 creped into my head. Their brain washing people, and it almost got me! :D

easy. commonfolk will do searches on the new HD format according to the limited knowledge they know.
"hmmm, i wonder if there is a high def dvd coming out?"
viola. hd-dvd. i think as well hd-dvd can be cross referenced very easily with either HD or DVD.
you would have to be specifically looking for bluray to find info about it.

Try "Blu-ray, HD-DVD" (note the hyphen in "HD-DVD").

you can do MULTIPLE different version the only one that has Blu-ray in the lead on Google is by spelling it:
Blue-ray HD-DVD
(both of which are wrong)
test out
1. blu-ray hd dvd (As I did)
2. blu-ray hd-dvd
3. blu ray hd-dvd
4. blu ray hd dvd
5. blue ray hd dvd
6. blue ray hd-dvd
Out of all of those HD DVD dominates everyone but the Blue-ray hd-dvd.

at that point..
you might as well try the following to be consistent with the searches.
blue-ray hd dvd
blue-ray hd-dvd
or how about:
blueray
bluray
hddvd
