I am building a HT/Bar room in the Basement.

The electrician will be here tomorrow to run the power wires for the whole basement.

I may not complete the Projector HT part for a while, but need to tell him where I want the ceiling outlet.

Details

Room is very deep (42 ft) with the plan for a 102" diag. on a 17ft wide wall

Very little ambiant light

Cieling height in that area will only be about 7"2 ( with a drop - so I may build a box with a tunnel to hold/sheild the projector- drop also allows running of all other wires later)

Not sure of which projector ( pearl or what ever looks best when I do finish the set up)

What distance back from the screen wall would give the most flexibility in terms of mounting a projector without having to run an extension cord.

Thanks in advance.

not knowing the throw distance for the screen size you want makes it hard. Since it is a basement, no way to get in their "after the fact"....hmmm...

If there was attic above the room, I'd say run some extra wire, terminate it and then you could place it exactly where you want when you are ready...but otherwise, you have to determine throw distance for your projector which you haven't picked out.

Why only one outlet?

I added two about 5 feet apart with one at 11/12 feet and the other about 17 feet back.

I'm currently using the one at 17 feet back, but I had no idea at the time which one I'd need.

Do multiple now while you have the opportunity.

Thanks for the input.

Since that particular are will have a drop ceiling, I just had the guy mount it 15 ft back with 5 ft of slack wire to move later.

Simple solution, I know but I am getting anxious as the rock is going up over much of the rest of the basement, and I wasn't thinking clearly.
