Hi all,
Well after sometime of using a couple of different remotes, my wife has decided that she would like a MX-3000.
I would like to buy from places that support this website, like: Blue Jeans or something of that nature.
If not, is Amazon a good place to buy the MX-3000? They have it for $599.
Thanks!

I'm not sure if they support this site or not, but Surf Remote control http://www.surfremotecontrol.com/ is an authorized dealer of Universal remotes (so you get the updated software). Requesting a coupon code from them (Click "Can I get a lower price?") will get you an MX-3000 for $500 plus shipping.

I understand they are an authorized dealer and do provide the needed software, both of those are very positive. Their current discount is about 40% off MSRP of 1000 dollars. Still a good deal given warranty and software issues.
You might also try www.avsscience.com. They carry the MX3000 and are associated with this site.
Does anyone know if you can get the software (with DB updates activated) from AVScience?

That price may be a bit low, but they are AWESOME to buy from. Big thumbs up from me. They are authorized and they send the "good" software immediately after the order is shipped.
i didnt see the part to request the coupon anywhere...
so the only advantage to the rmf 300 and 350 is longer rf range?
Bought my MX remote from Bluedo.com , emailed them for a better price and an authorized dealer.

It's on any Complete Control series product page.

No, actually the MRF-300 doesn't give you much, if any, increase in range. The MRF-350 does though. The differences are outlined here (http://www.surfremotecontrol.com/MRF_upgrade.htm).

Dont Buy the MX3000 from anybody who is not a true dealer. It is a custom installers item. The software is supposed to be exclusive for dealers only. You will not be able to upload the firmware or updates for these either. reply to this threadif your interestred in buying one programmedfor your devices.

Alright, please stop it. The specific situation with URC and authorized vs unauthorized dealers has been described in depth on this forum and others. What you say is not actually the truth -- it's just self-serving, as you seem to be an authorized dealer.
Several authorized dealers will give you the updateable software, if you want it, and they apparently can do that according to the distribution rules from URC. If you, Keypadman, want to actually help on this forum, I suggest you share your actual knowledge of these remotes (URC, RTI and others) -- these forums are explicitly NOT for fishing for customers.
And honestly the programming is not that hard for the MX-3000. Now I have been playing with computers for over 25 years and programmed in more computer languages than i can remember, but it is also not my profesison or my hobby even (darn Fortran in college)
I downloaded some of the templated and .rcc files over at remotecentral. Played a bit and I have it dialed in pretty well. I have not messed with variables and for mine to get any better I need to bush up on photoshop more than anything to get the exact look and feel that I want.
Since you are smart enough to come to this forum, you can probably program the remote yourself.
