No Fun

No major problems until now with the HDMI to DVI connection to my IF 7200. I have a Panasonic DVD-S97 with an HDMI output, connected to a Monster HDMI to DVI adapter running a Dual Link DVI cable to the M1 adapter cable to the IF 7200. This configuration has worked for over a year. When turning on the If 7200 today, it kept searching to find a signal between Video 1 and Video 3 without success. The icon on my DVD player said it could be: 1. The connected equipment is not HDMI compatible or 2. The HDMI cable is too long or 3. The HDMI cable is damaged.
The equipment has not been touched and everything work fine until this morning. My Firmware is 3.7, would a newer Firmware upgrade fix the problem?
As far as troubleshooting is concerned, I turned the projector off and waited awhile and turned it back on with the same searching for signal problem between Video 1 and Video 3. I disconnected the HDMI/DVI cable from the DVD player to see if the Component connection worked, and it did. The projector identified the signal on Video 3 and produced a picture. I then reconnected the HDMI/DVI cable to the DVD player and got the same searching problems, with the DVD player icon telling me there is a HDMI connection problem. One of the 3 mentioned above.
Can anybody give me some suggestions. All Infocus wants to do is sell me a new cable.
