This is my equipment set up:

Panasonic TH-50PX50U TV
Directv HR20 Receiver
Onkyno TX-SR604

As of note, I have changed Directv receivers and A/V Receivers the past year, the only thing that has not changed is the TV. Every once in while, one of the devices in any given activity doesn't power on or power off properly and I need to use HELP to fix. I had increased all the power delay settings and the Inter-device settings for all of the devices, yet I continue to have this issue. Going through the help menu's always fixes the problem, but it's become quite annoying.

Any suggestions?

The last thing to try is to adjust the number of repeats. The sticky on the top of this forum has instructions.

I have lowered the delay settings. It seems to have helped with the other devices, just seem to have a lot of issues with the Onkyo SR-604 receiver not powering off properly. Powering On is not an issue. Any other ideas?

Just an update, I have seemed to have fixed the issues with my Panasonic and HR20 as far as powering off and on properly by lowering all the delay settings. However, the Onkyo SR604 still has some sporadic power off behavior (Power on always works). It seems I have to hold down the Off button for a second longer to get that receiver to power off properly. Any ideas?

Do you have it set to always leave it on? I had a similar problem with my Harmony 1000 model with my DVD player. I guess in the setup options I clicked to always leave it on. If you want it to stay on while other devices are in use it's better to choose leave unused devices on (in the settings of other activities) instead of the choice to always leave a device on (in that devices settings).

When I had it set to always leave it on..of course...it never cut it off. When I switched it back to normal and went through all the other activities settings to leave unused devices on, my DVD player started cutting on and off normally.

I think you're actually having a problem with the IR signal reaching the receiver.

Try this:

Stand directly infront of your equipment stack. About 3~5ft infront of it

Press the activity button that will sometimes give you the problem.

Repeat this like 5~10 times.

If it doesn't happen during this test it is simply a problem of the signal not getting received by the device. If this is the case then you simply need to aim the remote at the equipment stack for a little longer
