forgive my ignorance i have not used the forums in a while but im looking for lighting ideas> im also not sure why my period key isnt working but thats another forum i guess lol> due to lack of planning my room was built with one single pole light switch and i will need to feed two more wires down to it for a total of three switches< but in a box the size of one> so id like to enter the world of home automation and have three dimmers in that box that could be controlled by a computer> where should i start fellas?

I would suggest adding the 2 additional switches/dimmers in a seperate box. You can use a double gang rework box and place it 2-3 inches beside the existing box. If you are handy, you could possibly take out the existing single box and replace it with a tripple.

As for computer controlled dimmers, I use Insteon with great results.

or..put the switches somewhere else (another room) and have your automation (only) control the lights.

Can you provide more data about what you are trying to do? Are you trying to control a single light from 4 different locations, split up an existing set of lights over additional switches or add additional lighting? What kind of lighting are you talking about?

There are tons of options, some easy and some hard for expanding lighting control and automation. More detail will help us provide good suggestions.

I basically want 3 seperate lighting zones. the recessed cans would be 1, the wall sconses would be another, and the rope lighting would be a zone. I think it would be cool if I could dim them independantly so during a presentation they would dim down in sequence, rather than alltogether.
