TWC will have better PQ than D*, but D* probably has more content. Hope that helped. What HD channels does TWC offer for your area? Neijii 03-14-07, 10:42 PM If it is actually being broadcasted in HD, the content is fine, but they don't offer much, unless it's a movie channel, it's only primetime that it's broadcasted in HD. Ed Weinman 03-14-07, 10:42 PM Is TimeWarner HD @ 1080? The reason I ask is because my friend had it installed and was told by the technician that his use of an HDMI cable would do little because TimeWarner HD does NOT broadcast in 1080 at this time (the technician did not state what HD was broadcast as, however). Neijii 03-14-07, 10:44 PM I'm not sure either, but the technicial told me the same thing, that the HDMI is hardly doing anything.. I have Casino Royale playing on my XBR now and it's nice, but i'm not sure if i'm completely satisfied, might be cause I was so used to seeing these LCDs with BlueRay at the stores. Ken H 03-14-07, 10:48 PM I got my sony XBR and i'm not very satisfied with the Time Warner HD programming...is Direct TV better? It depends. Check with others in the HDTV Locals Forum, in the topic for your area. The HD channels both carry will have the exact same amount of HD programming. Ken H 03-14-07, 10:57 PM Is TimeWarner HD @ 1080?TWC delivers HD to the set-top-box in the resolution of the source, both 1080i & 720p. The set-top-boxes have selectable HD resolution output; either 1080i or 720p. If you chose 1080i, the 1080i HD sources will be displayed as 1080i, the 720p sources will be converted to 1080i. If you select 720p, the 720p sources will be displayed as 720p, the 1080i sources will be converted to 720p. In both cases, the non-HD channels will be upconverted to the HD format you've selected. |
