Hey all. I thought I would share my setup. My biggest problem has been space and a projector with 5.1.
My room is smaller...11x14. Luckily our building is concrete so the sub has not been a problem for the guy below me. Of course I am good at not watching loud movies or playing my PS3 at midnight. I do these things, I just turn it down or run in midnight mode.

Projector: Panasonic AX100 (AE900 in the pic)
Player: PS3 60g with HDMI used for video and sound
Receiver: Pioneer Elite VSX-92TXH
Front Speakers: Totem Tribe 1
Center Speaker: Totem Tribe 1
Rear Speakers: Energy RC Mini
Subwoofer: SVS SB-12
Headphones: Pioneer SE-DIR800C
Remote: Harmony 880 (wired in with PS2 DVD remote equipment)

The PS3 as my sole ‘media center’ has worked out well, other than my girlfriend finds it a bit overwhelming to use. I have it on the far side of my couch with my Elite 92.
The front Totems are my pride and joy. Unbelievable speakers.
The Energy RC minis are difficult to say much about since they are my rears and don't get a ton of sound, however seem to do the job well. I may change these to Totem Dreamcatchers. One thing about the RC Minis is that they are a great looking speaker. If they sounded as good as they looked, I would have bought the whole set and saved money.
The Elite 92 is a great receiver with the sound quality improvement I was looking for over my Onkyo 602. It runs much cooler than my Onkyo, it has all the advanced setup features I wanted and all the latest technology.

‘Necessity is the mother of all invention’.

very nice, but the projector sitting on a stand like that would make me really nervous of someone accidently bumping into it.

I forgot to mention that I have double sided foam tape on the legs of the projector. It gets bumped all the time and the stand shifts a bit but the projector has never moved. I guess if someone kicked it, it would fall over but the stand weighs a lot.

What did you use to angle down the center speaker?

very nice btw

The parts to mount and angle the center speaker were cheap. The time to set it up properly and mount..........
I had to remove my screen to install it. I then bought some simple L brackets at a hardware store. I heated the brackets up at the elbow and bent them at the same angle. Once bent right I mounted the brackets and then the speaker.
Note: Don't do what I did and do the job by yourself. Holding the speaker with one hand and trying to mount it was not fun.

except for the ps3 sitting vertical and next to a heater

The heater is disconnected. Wouldn't be a smart thing running your components right beside a heater. But I guess you know that.

Nice look. Don't crank that sub too high for your neighbor's /receiver's sake!

for that tiny little space, you've really made it work. it's like a high tech cubby for you and your hubby.

"Remote: Harmony 880 (wired in with PS2 DVD remote equipment)" should try that out.

Thanks.

The PS2 DVD remote setup is far from perfect and a lot of the time I grab a PS3 Controller instead. Damn Sony for going with bluetooth.

Great work. You made very efficient use of space and have a great setup. I also live in an apartment condo and have to make use of space as well. I don't have immediate neighbours to the right or left of me but i do above and below me. My 12" velodyne sub woofer only gets a good workout during the day right after work ! When i hang my rear speakers up, i'll have to get pics of my setup too !

Proof that a FP system can happen anywhere with a little desire and creativity. I had a 1200 sq. ft home with a 100" screen setup smack dab in the middle of the house.
