A few years I had an antenna for local channels which were made unwatchable by interference from a nearby radio station, so we took it down off the roof, if I were to have it put back up will I still have this problem with OTA HD.
It is a large antenna as I'm 40 odd miles from the local stations

Possibly not, if your analog channels are on VHF and the digitals are on UHF you may not have a problem....

I assume the radio station was an FM station or stations? Did you try an FM trap back then to see whether it helped? Were just the low VHF (channels 2 to 6) unwatchable or is the tower so close that it messed up upper VHF and UHF as well?

If you post your zip code we can see if all your digital stations are UHF or upper VHF which should be far enough away from FM to work for OTA digital reception. We can also make recommendations on what antenna to get.

you can order a barrel notch filter tuned to the fm frequency that is giving you problems...if the station is fm.

for example...I have an fm station under 1 mile away ...100.9 mhz. a notch filter installed at the antenna took care of the problem. if the station is real strong, a filter may not help because the signal would ingress through the coax and you would difficulty filtering it.

give this company a call in the morning and they will help you select the appropriate filter.

I'm trying to track down what frequency this radio station is broadcasting at and I think it's 91.5FM if that is any help, I will phone them tomorrow to confirm, I would very much appreciate suggestions for a suitable antenna

an antenna capable of receiving vhf will be necessary there.

suggest a winegard hd7084P (min) antenna with cm7777 preamp mounted outside. you would install the notch filter off the antenna before the preamp.

If the fm station is this one you should be able to tame the signal with a 40-50db notch filter tuned to 91.5 mhz. there may be an issue if the fm tower is in line from your tv antenna to the tv towers.
