I have a samsung S5053 (50" Plasma) and I was wondering if I could use the service port on the rear to connect to my computer and control the input source via Girder?

Basically I switch between the HDMI and PC inputs often and it takes several IR blast with Girder to switch to PC and I wanted a more direct route. I've head of being able to do this to change the channel on some Sat receives and wanted to know/if I could do this with my TV. If there is a more appropriate place to ask this question please let me know!!

Are you referring to a RS-232 port?

if it were only that simple. It's not a RS-232 port it has 2 'Service Ports' one looks like a square HDMI cable and the other appears to be a stereo mini plug.
