I'm sure I'm not the only one that is frustrated that the DVE HD DVD calibration disc has been delayed 4 or 5 times already, and will surely be delayed again. (Next supposed release is in 11 days)

Do you think it might be getting postponed for a Blu-Ray release? Has Joe Kane chimed in at all about this release or are we just left in the dark?

As of yesterday, Amazon listed it as a January 1, 2010 release, now there's no release date at all. Oh well, I've only had it preordered for 5+ months now, what's a few more years?

I beleive it has been delayed until May (for now).

Unbelievable. Well, I just cancelled my pre-order with DVD Planet. I got tired of it tying up some store credit. Here's hoping it comes out in both BD and HD DVD whenever the hell it shows up.

Yeah, I canceled my preorder with DVD Empire.

I cancelled my order also. I don't believe it will come out on the next scheduled release day. It hasn't before and probably won't again. If this Kane guy can't get it right after all this time, I'm wondering if he'll ever get it right.

I originally was going to get it on HD DVD. But I don't think HD DVD will survive, so if he doesn't put it on BD, I'll never get it.

It seems to be more of a personal principle from the author side to release on HD-DVD only.

Neither format is making anything that could be described as "big bucks".

Wonder if the Silicon Optix HD HQV disc will appear sooner and approximates the DVE's content. It's not clear, from this site description (http://www.hqv.com/benchmark.cfm) whether S.O. meant Dec 06/Jan 07 for release regarding its delay (1st paragraph). The HD HQV has been used in beta form (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=9178202#post9178202) by some writers. -- John

? If anything HD DVD is probably making more money. I'd be surprised if Blu-ray is turning any kind of profit on software sales what with all the promotions that have been going on and all. But regardless, neither format is making enough money to sway a decision like this, at least not from a financial standpoint.

Shouldn't that be expected? I've had delays on Joey's calibration disc on every format since LD. I remember problems on the DVD and the D-VHS. HD DVD delayed? no surprise.

This is ridiculous. It is now projected at 6 months after it was first supposed to be done. I think he needs to fire his brother-in-law ;)

A clerk from BB claims that it has been postponed till further notice, I don't think anyone knows when the damn thing will be released. :(

Someone should lock him in his cabin at the Home Theater Cruise until he approves its release. :rolleyes:

I just checked my preorder on amazon and it says May 15 ship date, This is getting insane, if this is really the date that It will ship I'm going to cancel my preorder. I first preordered it when the departed came out and that was after several push backs
