I'm reinstalling my LCD in my new house and bought a media box to install behind it for my cables and such. I put a "dead outlet" behind the monitor with the other end behind where my monster cable power center MKII will be. My question is, should I attach a ground wire to the outlet behind the MKII power center to an outlet that has a working ground, or should I attach a ground wire to the MKII power center and let it handle the grounding of the monitor? If this is hard to picture what I'm thinking I can explain further or possibly provide pics.

I think I get what you are saying....basically you're putting an outlet behind your LCD that will be fed from your power center and you're wondering if you should install a "real" ground in the outlet (while the hot and neutral would then come from the power center). If I have this right, you should send all 3 wires through the monster, just as though you LCD was right next to it. If you give it a dedicated house ground you have no surge protection on that ground, where as the monster should have surge protection on all 3 lines. Probably doesn't make a difference, but that's how I would do it. Also less room for confusion.

I see, I guess I was wondering if the reason the monster has a seperate screw for a dedicated ground was for this type of application. If it is not needed because the monster gets its ground from the outlet that you plug it into then I won't worry about it then. Thanks
I would pull the ground from the same outlet where I pull the power. Thus, if the power center has outlets, I would take the power and ground both from it. That way, you don't have to worry about the internal wiring of the power center.
