What kind of reciept do you have to have. Can you buy a used movie from say ebay and cut the proof of purchase with ebay reciept or does it have to come from say best buy or amazon.

I think you need a receipt from a store, not a private seller.

However, you don't need to cut the UPC barcode and ruin the Blu-ray cover.

I sent in 3 separate UPC barcode scanned copies and all were accepted.

I received 3 separate rebate checks. So believe me, it works.

That is why I asked this question. It didn't say in the rules you have to buy it from a store. I will try the scan and maybe a reciept from a private seller to see if it works. Worth a try.

I know there is one on Craigslist in the Los Angeles area for sale. ;)

Possibly another dumb question from me......

Are the rebates only good for the titles on the coupon, or ANY title from the studios they list?

Dumb, yeah, I know, but I haven't used any of mine yet. The movies on the coupons really don't appeal to me that much.

Only the titles shown on the coupon or the website (http://www.blu-raymovierebate.com/ps_movies.html) but they're currently the same. On the website it says "More titles will be added throughout the promotion, so be sure to check back often!". But currently they're the exact same movies that are on the coupons so I doubt they will add any more (it's been 4 months already!).

Thanks. I was wondering about that line as well. Looks like the only titles I may purchase would be X3 and possibly Full Metal Jacket. We'll see.

people have contacted the folks running the promotion about that line. they said it's a typo and no new titles will be added...

Amazon.com receipt/packing slip works fine. No problems using it for X3 rebate.

Also, I read elsewhere that no more titles will be added to the eligibility list. WYSIWYG.

I just received a letter back stating that the UPC codes for Sleepy Hollow, X3, and T2 are invalid for this promotion. One was bought from Best Buy, the other two from Amazon. I included receipt and UPCs. WTF?!

No problems with Black Hawk Down or Unforgiven though. Maybe since they gave it to me for Unforgiven and BHD (not on the list), they wouldn't on X3 or T2. Balances out either way I guess.

I was able to get away sending in a receipt for a used blu ray with X3 from EB.
