Ok so a question for all you clever Blu Ray chaps.
I not only collect Movies but current and older tv shows..
I have a huge collection of tv shows on dvd but stopped buying movies 3-4 years ago because of the impending arrival of Blu Ray.
I also stopped collecting current tv shows a few years ago for the very same reason but older stuff like HIGHLANDER the Tv Series and just other 80s or 90s classics i have maybe 3 out of 5 seasons on SD.
Does anyone think that the current huge amount of tv shows available on sd will come to Blu Ray in better quality with smaller packaging.
I just dont want to waste my time anymore buying tv shows on regular dvd as it just seems a waste now even if the show might be 20 years old.
Example my wife collects DAWSONS CREEK..
They screwed that whole thing up because from season 2 onwards they tried to fit too many episodes on too few dvds and the quality was horrid.
So i made my wife stop at season 4.
Has anyone else done this also and is prepared to wait for TV shows on Blu Ray.

If it's shot on SD video, DVD is sufficient. BD will only get more episodes onto a disc.

If it's shot on film and edited/mastered on SD video, you'll have to wait until the studio makes a new HD transfer of the original film and re-edited it with the music and graphics. It'll be better than the original SD broadcast. See Charlie's Angels on DVD.

If it's shot on film/HD video and edited/mastered on HD video, well that's just easy.
