yeah, it's old...if you look closely at the disc he enters, it has a Blu-ray logo with Sony underneath it...

I thought it looked like one of those panny BRD recorders....

there was something that was sony in just about every part of this movie.

Just got done watching this movie and when he was looking through the discs, I was thinking "watch them be Blu-Ray discs" to myself and lo and behold! LOL

Yes there were Sony things flashing every 5 mins. Very Old.

Thats pretty crazy that they record the hotels security cams onto Blu-Ray discs and play them back on BD Players

I also noticed the Sony digital camera Eva Green was holding, as well as the Sony Vaio laptops. It's subtle enough I guess. =D

I didn't notice any Sony products used.

ya product placement was HUGE! Sony is in almost every scene with phones,labtops,and blu ray...if you didn't notice Ford is everywhere too, Bond drives the new euro Mondeo, and EVERY car is a ford brand i.e. ALL Jags,Volvo,Land Rover,Aston Martin,etc....

I noticed it in the theater actually.. There are a whole bunch of Sony BDP-S1s in the security room.

Probably the lack of gadgets except for probably the small bug bond implanted in the astma and the aston martin car in this movie compare to previous Bond's movie...they have to show something...lol

I did not see that ,but I did see him using a sony laptop and cell phone as well.

Oh and the girl taking a picture on the boat with a Sony Camera. With the Vaios, phones and blu-ray stuff I felt like it was turning into a Sony ad. Great movie all the same.

That movie had so much product placement it was embarassing to watch. I liked the movie overall though but jeez it was about as bad as Men In Black 2. At least it wasn't as in your face as MIB2 though. Still I can't watch without notcing it.

Haven't seen this much "forced" advertising since Demolition Man. Good movie but rediculous with all the Sony ****.

It was the only thing I didn't like about the movie. By the time they showed the digital cam I was like "COME ON!".

When Bond is following the second bomb guy through the airport. The bad guy is in line going through the security checkpoint.

The blonde guy in front of him in the security line goes through the metal detector and it beeps... he gets pulled aside and frisked and as he turns around - it's Branson!

Of course it's a 1 second glimpse but w/ DVD/BD you can slo-mo it :)

I noticed all of that in the theater when I first saw it. Explained to my what was going on...she started laughing, as I am an HD DVD fan lol.
But I did think of something, beside it being a Sony monvie and all, maybe it was easier to use all Sony products than to use other company products. Don't they have to get some time of agreement with other companies if they're using their product or showing their logo? Like all those music videos on MTV. Just a thought. Does that make any sense though???

My friend from Oz (she also lived in the UK for several years) who was watching it with me caught it instantly. The funny thing was she missed all the Sony/Ford product placement until I pointed it out.

Didn't you hear? MI6 signed an exclusive agreement with Sony. Sony is now the official provider of electronics for MI6. :D

Comical moment on the extras: They discuss the lawsuit with Sony quite candidly that got them the rights to even DO Casino Royale. Then, they ink a deal with MGM, then Sony buys MGM, and Bond starts using Sony (and Ford) -everything-.

I love the new Mondeo ST, too bad we get the crappy fusion in the states. No wonder ford is in trouble, they don't know what people want.

The Sony Ericsson placements were much more obvious than the VAIOs IMO... I didn't notice the BDP-S1's on the first viewing, but I definitely did on the second and had a good laugh about it.

In addition to all that, they also drank Sony champagne, played poker with Sony chips, used only Sony guns, and Bond wore a Sony suit.... were they trying to get us to subliminally think of something......... I can't imagine what it could be....
