Ok, JUST my opinion and maybe it's just me...

We watched The Guardian tonite. Decent flick, maybe a bit too long and the wife of Costner and love interest of Ashton WAY too underdeveloped in my opinion but...
Anyways,
The PQ looked pretty good. Not absolutely amazing but pretty good,
but...
IMHO the PQ of the 4 or 5 deleted scenes looked a little better. There was a teeny bit of film grain (which I do NOT mind btw...) but overall the PQ for those scenes (and one deleted scene starts right at the end of a scene in the film with a very similar (if not identical) shot of a trainee in the pool...) looked more detailed, more 3-dimensional with a smoother contrast and less filtered. In my opinion, they looked better. Perhaps in trying to look as grain free as possible, they filtered just a wee bit too much.
This happened alot on DVD. Deleted scenes on certain discs like "Road To Perdition" looked better than the film itself. That film was filtered all to hell.
Now this is a VERY minor difference but I felt I noticed it.

Just something to think about. And, maybe it's just me.

Happy St. Paddy's! d
