I have been using this combo for a few weeks now but am having a couple of small issues and was wondering if anyone else using this setup could comment.

1) 1080P/60 wont work. I suspect this is my old 30ft DVI cable and was surprised 1080P/50 worked but just want to check if this might be a timing issue.

2) I use a Tosh HD-XA1 and have two presets on the Lumagen, A is for 1080P/24 with Genlock and B is 1080I/60 for video. I can swtch fine if I switch before starting a disc, if I switch diring playback though the 1080p/24 has some issues. It is smooth for a few seconds and then hicups for a second and then is smooth again.

3) Is there anyway to auto switch between 1080P/24 and 1080I/60 for Film/Video?

BTW: Apart from minor probs above this setup is superb.

Hi ,

There is no way to auto swap based on video or film source. You need to do it by memories as you are just now. 1080P@60 to the JVC does work so it's a cable thing I think. I presume you have the latest firmware but if not try that as Pat did some work on genlock for 24p in that last release.

Hi Gordon,

I think there is an issue with my setup and 1080P/24. I am feeding HDMI(RGB) from a Toshiba HD-XA1 to a Lumagen HDP with the latest firmware and then to the JVC at 1080/24 with Genlock enabled. The Lumagen menus start to "Quiver" as soon as the Toshiba brings its display up, seems to effect HD DVD menus too. This does not happen at 1080/24 with the Toshiba off.

I think this may be an OSD bug. I've mentioned it to Lumagen support as I saw a similar thing at another clients home.

I think there is still a problem with 24P input and output with the latest firmware release.
I'm running the HDQ into my pearl from the pioneer blu ray at 1080/24 input.
With the latest release they have fixed most of the frame stutter that I was getting before, but I still will get micro stutters every few minutes, if I go back to 1080i output from the pioneer the micro stutters disappear.
My out put was set to 1080P 47 hertz etc.
If I go in at 1080/24p then out at 1080/24p the picture is horrible the motion is all screwed up, it kind of looks like frames are missing as the motion is not smooth at all, plus the OSD flickers like crazy. If I change back to 1080/p 47 htz out or 1080/p sf out the horrible motion and the OSD problem dissappears but I still get the micro stutter problem on the 1080/24p input from the pioneer.
If I connect the pioneer directly to the Pearl with 1080/p24 input the pearl does a beautiful job of displaying the output at 1080p/24 with no motion studder etc. but I lose my CH set up for my screen.
So at the moment I still think 1080/24 input or output is unusable on the HDQ until there is a proper fix, although there getting closer.

Thanks Lightwaver: I've cut and pasted your post to Lumagen support.

I plan on using this combo when my RS1 arrives. This is great feedback to help iron out remaining bugs. Glad to hear that the combo is "superb", bugs aside.
