I have a Pace 551 HD from Comcast and the the other day I noticed all my settings were cleared. I leave it on for Tivo an noticed it was off and upon turning it on all the settings were cleared. Odd thing is the setup looked entirely diffrent. Instead of of pushing the Display button to setup HD I had to turn it off and push guide and settings at the same time like a SA STB. The settings screen now looks like a SA screen where you can have fixed, upvert, stretch etc.. Was wondering if this was caused by a firmware update? Took me a few days to get it not to have my Sd in a 4 x 3 box without having to stretch the screen found that took 1/4 of the sides off (LOL). Changed it to upvert 1 and it looks normal now. Yesterday it even scramble my 1080I screen for some reason solved this by rebooting. Hope this update is not going to be a problem. Switched to Pace cause the SA STB made my B&K to make loud popping sounds when going through digital out and the Pace did not have this issue. Does anyone know if there was a firmware update by Comcast recently??? Thanks for any info..

I'm in DE and I too noticed a change in my Pace. Was out of town for a week and when I got back, both my STB's were off. When I turned them back on, noticed my SD material was pillared. So went to the settings and damn if the menu didnt change. Unfortunately now I can find any combo of settings to stretch my SD, and not stretch HD. My TV now sees all stations at 1080i. The pass-through is supposed to output native... but not a chance. So no I appear to be stuck until another change is made..

No quirks yet, but question:
Anyone able to use their TV remote control and the SA codes to control this box?
Tried 2 different remotes, no luck except power on, nothing else works.

I used to have a 551 and never had a problem using SA codes with it. Got a Panasonic TV is it's remote workes fine. Had two different cheap One for All remotes and the worked fine also.

Bill, did you find an answer to your question? I have the Pace box and a new Pio plasma and I'm finding myself having to stretch SD and set back to full when I watch HD.
