Originally I had very little idea about how to set up a home theater. I knew enough to get good components like an Optoma projector and an OPPO DVD player, but I shared the room with (then) a 4 year old and a 18 month old. Now that the kids are older, I set about updating the room. The room is an 11 XI 40' room that on one side is a computer station, in the middle a play room, and at the other end a movie area. With the upgrade I plan to
1 --- Replace the do it yourself wood frame screen with an EluneVision Grey Screen
2 --- Get rid of any plastic or RTA wooddlike furniture that we used for toys and DVDs
3 --- Ceiling mount the projector
4 --- Ceiling mount the speakers
The attached picture is an example of the before and some of the during of construction. I will upload more with an explanation of what I have done.

The first movie area was sort of designed on the fly. My brother did one in his home and it looked great. I had an Optoma 739 behind the sofa and would show movies on the screen material of an old portable screen I had at work. It worked for a few years, but after looking at some DIY setups on this forum, I thought I would take another shot.
Planning was pretty easy, I wanted a shelving area to hold DVDs, some shelves for toys and other kid items (that could be hidden from sight when not in use), and some misc storage.
I planned the process using a PC based simple design project. I planned two towers and base cabinets under the screen. Due to the screen size and wall size, I could not use the standard height base cabinets and still fit components underneath.
After about a month of planning and design using a simple PC design program I found a way to use the entire 135" width wall and maximize viewing with a 92" diagnal screen.
Most items were purchased at the large home improvement store, and since I had a table saw, miter saw, biscut joiner, router, scroll saw and drill, I did not really need to purchase any tools.
Step 1 the towers
The towers are built out of both solid 1 inch oak stock (1/2 inch oak for the DVD shelves, and Furntiure grade oak plywood. I was limited to about 24 inches on each side of the screen which gave me room for 6" of DVD shelving, and 16 inches of Storage shelving.
The DVD shelves are 5.5" deep, and the storage shelves are 12.5" deep.

Step two the base
The guys at eastporters were great with advice on screens and how to mount. They do lack on instructions, which are difficult at best. They gave me info as to the optimal height for my size room and mounting instructions ( more on the screen later)
Based on their recommendations, I was left with little room for base cabinets. Height for off the shelf base cabinets would put me about 1.5 inches higher than the bottom of my screen.
The solution... wall mount cabinets used as base cabinets. I mounted them on 1X 2 wood pieces between the towers. An additional solution was to cut the back of the cabinets out and mount them about 5" from the wall. With some custom shelves I turned 11 inch deep shelves into 16 inch deep.
With the DVD shelves being 5.5 inches, the tower shelves being 12.5 inches, and the base cabinets 16 inches, I now had plenty of storage for our needs.

After completing the base shelves I installed the EluneVision 92 inch, 1.1 Grey Screen. The screen made an immediate impact on the black level on my DLP projector. After some adjustments to contrast and peaking, the picture seems sharper and contains more detail then before.
Eastporters did an excellent job walking me through some problems with the install, even at 9PM Saturday night they had their phones forwarded, walked me through a few issues and were very courteous.
These are the final pictures of the project, I have not done alot of photographing of a video screen before hope the detail shows through.
