2005 honda civic

on the cheap so i'm just upgrading to these: any advice or ideas

2 infinity reference 6x9's 2ohm
alpine t220 amp 70w @ 2ohms per channel
kicker 2way crossover
pheonix gold rca
4 sq. ft. dynomat ( for rattle areas only)

also using what i currently have
2 aurora bass shakers
RF punch 60 amp (30 watts rms??)
klipsch dual 6" ported box home subs (its ok to laugh)
figure i'd use aurora's on ch1 and klipsch on ch2 each in parrallel

keeping stock head unit and front speakers ( too much of a pain to mess with)

Just a note that most home subwoofers don't work well in cars. They are usually not tuned quite right or the car. I don't think you need the kicker crossover (your amp probably has a built in crossover).

And just on a personal note, I would rather replace the front speakers than the back. Even if they are harder to replace... I don't really care for bass shakers either, but what the heck, you have them...

just my $.02. :)

uhh...what he said.

I would not use the home subs. They will probally make it sound worse. Your 6x9's should provide all the mid-bass you need. (Just a side note: the Reference 6x9's are probably 4 ohm).

I also agree, to keep it cheap, just use the x-over in the amp. I assume that the RCA it to go out of one amp and to the next?

Maybe sell you 6"ers for enough to buy some front speakers. You may need them for some extra clarity after adding all of that bass. I would also use the more powerfull amp for the subs.

Just my opinion, as you are the one that will listen to it, not me.

LOL. I'd love to use my home sub in my car.

Unfortunately it's an 8ft^3 with a 15" driver tuned to 19hz.

Cabin gain would be insane <30hz. :)
