Guess I enjoyed the movie too much and pushed the sound and speakers too hard. Boy what a movie. My Mirage L/C/R thought otherwise though

My Mirage L/C/R thought otherwise though Megalith 03-19-07, 12:19 AM I hope you did it on the Aston Martin crash. Taha24 03-19-07, 02:24 AM All three speakers blew out together? Xylon 03-19-07, 02:31 AM *shens* SyHD 03-19-07, 02:41 AM I hope you did it on the Aston Martin crash. If there is a scene in Casino Royale that would blow a set of speakers, it would be the roar of that airline airplane flying past the chase. thebland 03-19-07, 07:36 AM I would guess it would be the last scene (building implosion). I noticed that there was a lo of low bass and it seemed recorded a few dbs higher than the rest of the film. I watched this at -2! Fettastic 03-19-07, 10:26 AM I blew out my speakers once but it was with a CD. I think it was Alice in Chains. It was pretty cool, flames literally shot out! Suzook 03-19-07, 10:33 AM well its just one of the tweeters I think. I have a mirage uni theatre rated at 100 watts and I think my Sony 5200 pushed it too far with CR Art Sonneborn 03-19-07, 10:42 AM If there is a scene in Casino Royale that would blow a set of speakers, it would be the roar of that airline airplane flying past the chase. That was indeed very impressive ! :) Art Rachael Bellomy 03-19-07, 11:30 AM well its just one of the tweeters I think. I have a mirage uni theatre rated at 100 watts and I think my Sony 5200 pushed it too far with CR It sounds like your Sony 5200 may produce too much distortion along with the audio. Hagun 03-19-07, 11:37 AM If the sounds blew out your speakers, especially the tweeters, this is cause by the distortion generated by the receiver/amplifier at high volume. Mirage is a pretty good speakers. It hapened to me once, of course my amplifier was a Sony. SInce, I never bought Sony receiver. flyersfan 03-19-07, 01:16 PM My wife smiled at me during the building implosion. While it might've been recorded a little hot, it was still mighty impressive. It felt like we had bass shakers and the sound didn't distort at all. I want to have friends over just as an excuse to watch the movie again (at proper audio levels, not some wimpy night-viewing). Malcolm_B 03-19-07, 02:47 PM I initially watched CR at family/wife-friendly levels. This gives me an excuse to go back and see what happens... tabraha 03-19-07, 02:51 PM Hmmm.... my wife cut her eyes at me during the implosion scene too. I looked at her and smiled and showed that my hands were far away from the remote. :D joerod 03-19-07, 03:11 PM The opening scene has some good bass to. I just wish the rest of the movie showed more life. :D cucumbersmell 03-19-07, 03:14 PM Blu out my speakers on Casino Royale? :) Sherardp 03-19-07, 10:14 PM Sux you blew a speaker, that 5200Es is a beast, Are you running any amps, I have the 7100ES combined with Outlaw Monoblocks talbain 03-19-07, 11:04 PM sounds more like a poor hardware configuration than a testament to the tonal range and dynamics of casino royale... Sky042 03-20-07, 06:59 AM I'm waiting for the weekend to watch this movie. I want to be able to watch it at volume without annoying the neighbors. Can't wait to see what my Mission 77's and the H-100 do with this movie from my new VSX-82TXs |
