I recently got the JVC RS-1 and am looking to do a CIH setup with an anamorphic lens and video processor. I have a PS3 and HD-A1 for blu-ray and HD-DVD playback so I will need something that can deal with 1080p material. I am perfectly happy with the processing being done in the JVC RS-1 so I don't need to have any processing done to the image by the VP, I just need it to have the ability to do a vertical stretch on the image so that the anamorphic lens can stretch it out to a 2.35 ratio. What is the most cost effective VP that I can get right now that will provide the required veritcal stretch?
thanks

I have been thinking of buying the RS1 for a 2:35 set up and was disappointed to learn that JVC did not include a stretch mode in the processor even though the processor is quite capable of handling this operation.
Key digital sells a relatively inexpensive HDMI switch which includes this operation
You can buy it at http://sewelldirect.com/4x1-hdmi-switch-processor.asp
does anyone know if JVC is planning to upgrade the RS1 to include a stretching Ie. Letterbox function in their processing.

unfortunately this device from key digital has been taken off the market. There is supposed to be a scalar switcher from Gefen for 500 dollars and I have heard the Lumagen HDQ for 2000 dollars dose a good job.
Given the wide zoom range of the RS1, overfilling the screen may be a good option for 2:35

All of the Lumagen products can be used to scale the video for an anamorphic lens. We recently posted "Tech Tip 4- Anamorphic Lens" to provide a set up guide for this application.

Gefen scaler is NOT suitable for CIH setup..

The lumagens have the reputation of being the best at scaling.
