View Full Version : Theatre Seats In Canada? parksey82 03-19-07, 02:51 PM Just curious as to where my fellow Canadians have purchased their theatre seats in Canada either online or from a local store -- more specifically, the Vancouver, BC area? Thanks for any help. joners 03-20-07, 09:31 AM Palliser Furniture has a line of Theater seating. Hughman 03-20-07, 12:13 PM I just received 6 seats purchased from HT Authority, an online US dealer with Canadian pricing and delivery, I'm on the East Coast. After checking out the local market I was a little put-off with the lack of what I would consider competitive pricing, and after viewing and sitting in the, rather cheezy, lazy-boy Matinee seats it became clear I was being hosed. Anyways, found the HT Authority site and ordered two rows of three of the Showtime seats for far less than half of what was quoted locally for Berkline and Lazy-boy, and a couple other un-mentionables. It's not often my purchases exceed expectations and these Showtime seats have done just that. Amazing value in HT seating. Have you already built your theatre? If so do you have pictures or a construction thread. I have been working on finishing my basement for the last year and am about a month away from starting my theatre room. Always looking for ideas. I am on a tight budget so no fancy seats for me. I managed to find 12 seats in amazingly good condition that came out of a theatre built around 1968. Once I paint the frames and die the cloth they will look great and give me that authentic theatre feel. Hughman 03-20-07, 12:41 PM Hello, No, I never really finish anything as am always in a state of change for some reason so know better than to nail or bolt anything down. I'm in the midst of a few improvements in my room so it's very bare bone right now, not much of interest to show at this point. Ballance 03-20-07, 10:32 PM Nice to see some more from the Canadian West coast in here. I live in Langley, BC. I couldn't find anyone in the area that had reasonably priced movie theatre seats. I haven't bought my seats yet, but I'm either buying some Berkline 088's from Home Theatre Authority ( http://www.htauthority.com/index_files/HTACanadaShowTimeCollection.htm ) or the Vegas style real movie theatre seats from http://www.seatsandchairs.com. They both sell to Canadians. I have been in contact with both for quotes and they have both been very helpful. We are leaning towards the real movie theatre seats at the moment. I have just started to frame my theatre room while Im finishing the rest of the basement, so likley won't be buying them for another month or so. parksey82 03-21-07, 01:24 AM Nice, I'm actually in Langley too... haven't updated my profile since I moved here. RIT 03-21-07, 05:57 PM Jaymar is a Canadian supplier of excellent theater seats. Rookie Boy 03-21-07, 07:41 PM We purchased the Quest line from Lazboy, very comfortable but it was pricey. As well, they are oversized so not condusive if you are planning on having a row of four or five chairs. rlindo 03-21-07, 08:34 PM I got my 7 berkline 90s from Serge at HT Authority who I believe goes by the handle Power here. Good price and good service. I recommend him. |
