I recently got an Oppo970, Pioneer4270 HDTV & have a Comcast Motorola 6416 III HDDVR box.

I've programmed the DVD controls into the Pioneer remote so I only have to use 2 remotes...but it's a little clunky and it's still 2 remotes. I've read around and it sounds like getting a Harmony to work with the TV & DVD player should be no problem...it should be able to do the major things like input swapping, swapping aspect ratios, volume, etc...

Main concern is how the harmony will handle the Programming Guide & DVR on the cable box?
How difficult/easy would it be to navigate the Guide & DVR on the cable box using the harmony as compared to the comcast remote? I find the comcast remote to be laid out fairly well and easy to use.

I was looking at the Harmony 670...anyone have any experience using this Harmony remote with any of the Motorla/Comcast DVR's?

I really just want to be able to control the TV, DVD player & Cable box with 1 remote...no need for lighting or anything like that.

I have a 676 (functional equivalent to a 670) and a Moto/Comcast DVR (3412). This works perfectly.

I have the 'guide' button on the Harmony programmed to call up the programming guide. I then use the direction keys to navagate the programming guide and hit 'select' to choose a program.

I have the MyDVR function programmed to one of the LCD soft buttons. Again, I have full functionality.

By the way, all of the codes to perform these operations are in the Harmony database - even, if I recall correctly, the 30-second skip function which I have programmed to the >> key.

In short, I use the Harmony remote exclusively and have put all of my other remotes away. I am very pleased with its functionality. Hope this helps.

I have the Motorola 6416 Phase III box.

You to need add the 6416 as a PVR device, NOT a cable box. That way it will utilize the MyDVR functions. When you go to edit any buttons for the Watch PVR activity, you want to edit the Additional Buttons. Those are the selections that will show up on the display when you select the Watch TV button, or manually select the Watch PVR from the activities menu. I tried this remote out last night watching DVR recordings, and it works very well.

I just got this remote yesterday, and have been playing around with it. Not in love with the smaller buttons, compared to my MX-700 remote. The player buttons, REV, FF, PLAY, etc, are not in what I consider a logical order, especially PLAY, which I think should be the bottom center button, not on the right side. Oh well. I'll see how the wife likes it.

I have all my stuff working with my 676, and just changed my Comcast Box from a set top box to a Moto 3412 (PVR). I also still have a ReplayTV as another PVR and it, of course still works.

My question is...can I just change my Set Top Box to a PVR Moto 3412 and have the basic settings stay the same (tv input, etc) or do I have to delete it and add a new device?
