Here in Houston, our local Belo, has decided to preempt both programs of "HIMYM" and "Christine" for ten year old episodes of Fraiser. Both programs face ratings declines, but Belo has preempted on more than one occasion How I met your Mother. Houston is a top ten market. Doesn't Belo's decision further accelerate the declines. How does this move affect Belo? How are they able to generate ad revenues for syndicated programming when advertisors were expecting first run programming? How do they insert national commercials or do they forgo or reshedule national ad programming How is it that "The Class" managed to show all of their episodes? Does CBS have any recourse? Are any other Belo stations doing the same? Our local Belo doesn't return calls to their programming dept about this specific question as I have called many times before. What was funny, was that on more than one occasion; CBS, or their advertising department, bought local ad blurbs in the TV section of the Houston Chronicle for episodes showing that same day only to have their programming preempted by Belo.
