I know this is a dumb question, but i brought this up in a previous post.

I think i like the Sony Cases the best because the little gray arch at the bottom doesnt take much from the artwork. Also the Blu-Ray symbol at the top is engraved and looks great.

I HATE the fox cases. They are a darker blue, the black strip at the bottom is ugly. The Blu-Ray symbol at the top is printed on. The back cover is ugly with one picture of the movie and not much info.

The Disney/Buena Vista cases are alright, most of the cover artwork seems blocky because the half the case is taken up by that big ray type shape on the right side.

I know many will be like you have no life, but its just interesting to think about and another thing to talk about rather than the million Casino Royale topics (which i have now watched twice in the past 2 days i have had it)

I like Warner's simple approach in terms of cover art. But you asked about cases and I find the darker Blue Fox cases to look really cool. Especially when you hold it out in the light. I wish all Blu-ray cases would use that navy blue color instead of aqua.

I totally agree with you wishman - Sony cases look the best - clean and sharp looking.

yeah i guess the dark blue would look cool if it had the engraved logo at the top

but the fox covers are gross because that black strip at the bottom is ugly. It has 1080P in a little oval ..how boring seriously.

to think they set a retail at $40 for such garbage covers and discs with no extras (specifically Kingdom of Heaven)

Case wise I like the ones that Sony, Disney, Lion's Gate use. The one with the engraved logo, just looks nicer than the cheesy printed logo that the cases of Warner and Fox have.

Do the Sony/Disney (Bond/Prestige) cases purposely have two "Snapper" flaps that you can use as outer flaps or bend inwards and treat like a "normal" dvd case? Or is it just a weird coincidence that you can bend them in and the case works like a normal, "Warner Bros." style case? Either way, it's a nice feature because I hate those Snapper flaps.

well the point of the topic was to ask people what cases they liked. Figuring you thought this topic was ********, you may as well just stayed away from it and not wasted your time. Not trying to be an ass either

I like the cases Fox/Warners uses. I think the discs are more secure using that hub compared to the very flat style seen in the Sony case.

I hate the cases with the little latch on the side. Everything else is fine.

There's something about the engraved logos I don't like. They just seem cheap looking because of the bright chrome on them. Random instances of chrome on anything look kinda bad really (I'm looking at you 60gb PS3). But I do prefer the "layout" of the Sony covers more, the silver arch does a nice job of presenting that extra info and isn't too obstructive (Warner) or drab (Fox).

The Sony discs themselves with the Blu-ray design instead of the title design sucks.

I hate the latch cases too (including the ones on HD DVD's).

I guess I'm in the minority, I hate the engraved cases as well..I much prefer the clean look of the silver logo painted on the Fox cases. The problem is, I also like the latched cases, because you can either latch it or not latch it...having the choice sure beats not having one. Unfortunately, I can't have both perferences at the same time. I do like how the sony style cases have thicker flat spines, it makes reading the spine titles much easier.

Another vote for the Sony BD cases.

I like the Sony / Disney / engraved logos rather than the painted ones. I used to hate that little latch, but don't mind as long as it lets me stow it away. I believe my Aeon Flux BD latch won't stow (it just pops up)...

Definitly the Sony cases......although Lionsgate cases are good too. I love the movie art on the inside of the covers.

Warner has the best cover art. Too bad their discs aren't as good.

A mix.

Sony case + cover
Pro: Engraving of the logo is nice. The latch is supernice as you can use it to mark which movies are R-/NC-17-rated by using the latch. The silver bump on the cover is simple and effective.
Con: The coloring of the plastic should be as dark as Fox. They don't have the audio video grid.

I guess Fox and the rest of the studios are antithesis of all that.

Everyone who keeps talking about the snapper clip things....

YOU CAN CLICK THEM TO THE INSIDE OF THE CASE AND THEN YOU'LL NEVER HAVE TO DEAL WITH THEM AGAIN!

Sorry, but I discovered this back when the Prestige broke a bit and I accidentily pushed it in and it stuck to the inside back cover. It's so much better this way. In fact, if you go back and look at all your other releases that "don't" have these flapper things, they actually DO have them, they're just snapped to the back of the case already!

And btw, call me crazy, but I'm a fan of the rounded Warner cases.
