I have a Samsung HD 860. Lately it's been acting up. When I turn on the DVD and open the tray on the DVD the screen appears fine on my TV. But when I put in a DVD and close it the screen turns blue, I could here it fine but no picture.

Thats what happens when you buy a crappy dvd player.
So maybe this is a good time to upgrade and buy a better product with good customer support like an Oppo..

What are you talking about your profile said you have an Samsung hd841 so whats the difference.

I had my HD860 for a week before I returned it. Horrible picture and kept locking up on me.

is there any difference between the hd860 and the hd870?
I just purchased the 870 and it seems to be all right - other than the freakin' horrible blue power light that shines in my face 15 ft away!

I had the HD860 for a couple of weeks and PQ seemed fine in my limited time but I heard of the problems with freezing (encountered it once on Flushed Away but it started back up after a few seconds) and absolutely hated the blue power spotlight so I returned it and got an Oppo 981. Couldn't be happier.

whoops,, got mine last week and did notice one instance of freezing momentarily. Going back to Big Box later this week. Also, I didn't like how there was a bit of lag when pressing the remote buttons, it seemed to me that you really had to push down hard on the button remote.

I called samsung yesterday and they couldn't help me at all. They said some how the HDCP kicked in causing this problem. They want me to send it back so could check it out, fix it and send it back at no charge.
