You need to calibrate your set, or you don't understand what film grain is. Rocky is the most pristine HD transfer I've seen, and it's a pleasure that they mix film with an HD Cam big end fight scene.

it is isf calibrated i even messed with the settings (wrote down the old ones) with the nin blu ray disc i own (the adjust thing it has) and it didnt help any i say a movie like stealth has better pq then this movie over all. but the fight scene is incredible! the fight scene is the best i have seen on blu ray ever and maybe even on hd-dvd

I thought it was an alright movie. But it seemed like the same ol same ol. The storyline was very close to some of the others. You'd think after 17 years he'd come up with somthing new.

Sure hope we don't see a rocky 7. A 80 year old rocky fighting.

Balboa was a film made for the Rocky fan IMO.

I liked it...did not love it as much as parts 1-4 but it was a good way to end the series and much better than part 5.

Worth a watch IMO.

I can guess that you don't like the other Rocky movies as well right? Well maybe except the first, because everyone likes that one. I could see how if you didn't like the sequels, you would find Rocky Balboa to be a piece of crap. I personally love it. :)

i just got done watching it. and thought it was good.

Out of 129 reviews at amazon. The movie rating is 4 1/2 stars out of 5. I guess the few that didn't like it are in the minority. Only one I didn't like was 5 like most other people.

Movie was decent, but not as great as it was hyped up. Definitely good PQ and AQ (mmm, I love PCM), though.

I loved it as said above i think its a rocky fans movie, it ends the story very well imho and sly bring rocky back to its roots where it is best. Less action more story character based.

I think he has a right to hate the movie, dude. We may disagree with him, but there's no need to attack his right to state his opinion.

I LOVE this film! It has everyone I love about the first 2 films. I thought 3 and 4 got too stylized and ridiculous, although I like them too. Part 5 tried to go "home" and parts of it work ok, but I hated the kid and the street brawl at the end was a ripoff. I thought Balboa was a touching story about a guy who's outlived the love of his life, has a kid who stays away and doesn't know why he's still around. And finally he just decides to be here for himself, which is something he's not used to because he is such a caring and generous person. I thought the film was a triumph and I can't wait to check out the BD which arrives today.

I could see watching the SD version of a cat. title that you've previously owned...then the BD to compare....

i love the rocky movies :) my brother had came over since he knew i was gonna get the rocky balboa bd in the mail but we where both inpatient and he had bought the sd version so we watched it then the blu ray version came in the mail and he just wanted to watch the fight scene and he and i where both amazed by the picture quality. but then he left and i rewatched it and the rest of the movie sucked picture quality wise mid tier 2 quality i think.

This movie is top notch presentation/transfer of this film. First rate in PQ and AQ. I was worried seeing the theatrical presentation...but the BD is heads and tails above what I saw in the theater. I love the use the different color bathing the different street scenes...really makes the dirty streets of Philly look beautiful.

The extras indicated that the fight scenes were filmed with HD cameras. Clearly a cleaner picture than the earlier portions of the film.
