I'm using the Logitech s510 and it works extremely well with mac and vista or xp. in the mac, some of the hot keys on the left and right, such as zoom, the transport controls dont work, but the volume up/down/mute does. I really like this keyboard and mouse and the price is right. bought it at compusa.

I am not sure why this is, but to be able to wake my Macbook up when hooked up to my TV I need to have a usb mouse plugged in.

I have a BT keyboard and mouse to use with the laptop, but it just wont wake up unless theres a usb mouse attached.

I have a crappy usb mouse lying around so i just plugged it in... strange but works.

I won't go into too much detail, since on another thread you've already assessed my experience and ability to help you:

to the guy who told me to Keep It Simple Stupid in the second post: your a jerk and dont know jack

make sure you're allowing your BT mouse to wake your Macbook:

System pref > Hardware > Keyboard & Mouse > check the "allow bt devices to wake this computer" box

I am looking at the Logitech Edge wireless keyboard with an integrated trackpad so you don't need to deal with a mouse if you are using it on your lap in the living room.

I will have to check that panel thanks dude.

BTW benzizbit... I have a Targus mini BT mouse that I was going to use with my laptop on the go, but i rarely use it as it feels very "jittery"... It seems to work ok with brand new fresh batteries but any time after that the performance is sketchy, .... it's not a good solution.

I currently use the mighty mouse wireless BT with my Macbook, but only because I got one free with one of my Macs and haven't bothered to get anything else yet. It at least doesn't have jitter like the mini mouse, I think it might be due to the fact that it uses AA batteries instead of AAA. (or that at least helps keep a good signal i duno) I am going to get rid of this piece of crap as soon as I can, even though the mouse tracks ok, and the scroll ball works ok (middle mouse click sucks with it but scrolling is ok), right click really is horrible and doesnt register relyably, the overall ergonomics really suck and the side buttons are whack. I am sure you all probably allready know this is a piece of junk but I just thought id share my experiance.

So, I've yet to find a good wireless mouse and hopefully someone can reccomend a real cool one. I am going to experiment using my Wiimote from my Nintendo wii, you can use it as a pointer if you hook up the sensor bar and its pretty radical dude. most HTPC stuff you can do with point and click and the buttons can be assigned to stuff with darwiin remote program. Its bluetooth, works good, a really neato solution. You can get one for $40 and you will need to jerry rig up a sensor bar out of IR leds or buy like a wireless 3rd party sensor bar for wii, or ninendo has a official one but youd need to patch up the power on the cable as its a proprietary plug for wii. (may as well just make one from Radio shack vs this)

Anyhow not sure if yall thought of this one and it is a very neat solution. I need to get a wireless sensor bar and set this up for myself soon and will let you know how well it works, I have one buddy already doin it and he likes it.

 I will need a good wireless mouse too eventually though for real work on the go, so any more mouse reccomendations are great.

oh yes i must also mention that i would never give up my desktop mouse for anything, its wired and is real high dpi and so nice...

Sorry dude your in the dog pound again and back to "don't know jack" status.

I checked my Sys Prefs and Allow BT devices to wake computer from sleep was already checked.

For whatever reason it needs a usb mouse to be plugged in, I cant wake it from sleep via bluetooth otherwise.

Heh.

I just ordered the Logitech Edge keyboard to use with my Mini HTPC:
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/p...CONTENTID=12339

It's sleek and sexy, and according to this guys blog:
http://5thirtyone.com/archives/751
he's got it up and running with OS X with full functionality.

im thinking its probably not that its a usb mouse but thats its simply a usb device that is triggering the wake.

the mac is sleeping and along comes something that needs to be identified for the system so it has to wake up and do someting about it.

try just a usb flash or something and see if it wakes.
