I'm in the middle of a cross country relo and it looks like I'll be loosing my dedicated Media Room in move to the new home. Currently I have a dedicated MR with a 106" screen, platform for 2 levels, leather couches and lots of space. We use it often for family viewing.

My new home has less room, but there is a bonus room that is 13 wide * 18' long. My kids (8 &11) really want the platform - but my wife wants it to be a playroom and is discouraging me.

I was wondering if anyone has every seen any unique solutions to building a multi-purpose platforms & rooms?
It would be great if I could build a room that could morph into different usages. Like having some comfortable seating, tables or storage built into the platform.
Seating pulls out for movies, tables raise for playing seated games. And everything disappear into the platform when used as a playroom.
Any ideas?

Just build the room, and in the back put some of the kids toys and hope your wife forgets lol

Ask her who the playroom is for, if the kids want the platform (and presumably prefer the theater over the playroom)?

Or...maybe with some creative use of hydraulics... :p
