Having difficulty finding linacoustic RC & other products locally (Columbus Ohio) for my HT front wall. I did find a local source for another Owens Corning duct liner called QuietR. Comes in one inch thick like I need.

It's not listed in Bob Gold's list. ANyone know how this stacks up as an acoustical treatment for front wall home theaters?

TIA

I can't tell you but if you check out the rating from Johns Manville for Linacoustic versus the OC Ductliner ratings that are on their website then you can compare it yourself.

FWIW, I couldn't find Linacoustic near me so I bought the CertainTeed version of it and they are almost identiccal and I would guess that is true for your request as well.

Which Certainteed product did you find?

I found CertainTeed Tuffgard 2 locally (Portland, OR). Its specs are comparable to Linacoustic, etc etc. Dig around on their web site under Contractors/Remodelers, then View Our New Insulation Products, then ToughGard 2.

It ran about $2.00 per foot for a 48 inch wide by 100ft long roll.

Great! The accoustical performance numbers for toughguard 2 300 are almost identical to OC 703 & Linacoust RC, and there are two local suppliers (at least according to the Certainteed website). I'll try them tomorrow.

I also used ToughGuard2 from CertainTeed. I paid about $170 for 400 sq ft.

OOPs, I take it back. I actually have ToughGard R. If I remember right, its specs seemed a little better than the ToughGard 2.
