Hi Guys, i have a 34" Sony XBR960 (TubeTV).

I was wondering if you could recomend a good Multidisc (like 200 or more) DVD Player. I own about 800 DVDs and would love to have one place to put all of them. I would love one that did 1080i over componet. I think i have a hdmi input on my tv but im not 100% sure.

Right now i use my Xbox360 for playing DVDs. Also if i go with a Multidisc player, could i daisy chain them?

btw, what is the overall impressions of multidisc players, is that something i should avoid?

My goal is to try to have something where i can search on screen for a movie and then just press play and it will play it.

I think the Sony model (DVPCX995V) is the only one that upscales to 1080i (of the megachangers, at least.) They each hold 400 discs, so two should be good. I believe it only upconverts over HDMI.

The only other companies that made them are Pioneer and Kenwood, and maybe one other whose name escapes me. I don't think any upscaled.


btw, what is the overall impressions of multidisc players, is that something i should avoid?


I've owned five and six disc changers and never had a problem with them. I've heard the megachangers had some quirks, but nothing major.
