Is there a good guide somewhere for setting up a Sony R60/70XBR2 for use with a PC? I'm sure there is but I can't seem to find a good one.
I'm using an ATI Radeon X1900XTX and the latest ATI control panel. When I set the PC to display 1920x1080 60p, the TV automatically gives me full screen with a thin black border indicating I'm not getting 1:1 Pixel mapping. I want some overscan. Not a lot, but I want to use the whole screen.
I'm using a DVI to HDMI cable and the TV tells me I'm seeing 1080p. I can change it to 1366x768 and get really big borders and all the other resolution works. I tried resizing the screen using the ATI Tool but as soon as I do, the TV re-centers the image with about a 1/4 inch black border on all 4 sides. I'm using the latest ATI drivers and both Vista and XP (Dual Boot). Both do the same.
I tried the custom resolution option, and it appears to work for a second before the TV blanks for a moment then resizes the image to be a perfectly centered windows desktop with a 1/4 inch border. The Icons are larger indicating a change did occur, but the image is centered and has a border.
From what I've read here, the TV should by default be showing some over-scan, but my XBR2 appears to be resizing the PC image for me...
Thanks in advance if anyone could point me in the right direction!
