Hello!

Please I need help !. I´ve been looking all over the internets but cant find an answer.

Since I live in Ecuador the only way I can get a Pioneer 5070hd is importing it directly from USA. My only problem is the possible consecuences of different power voltage or sea level .

My City´s level ( I dont know how you call it in the US ) is 9000 feet over sea level. The voltage is 110 AC. Could there be a big problem with any of those ? I´ve heard that variation on level may cause humming on plasmas and different power source may be harmfull for the tv. Is this tv made in Mexico?

Please help me take a decision :o

What frequency is your 110AC? 60Hz? 9000 is pretty high. I'm sure someone else will know about the altitude issues.

Well, the power shouldn't be an issue. As far as the altitude goes, I think it's in the manual somewhere. Here's a link to the manual pdf file:

Good luck. I love my Pioneer plasma.

Thanks!!

The problem is that in my country the third hole in the electric swith(outlet??) that should be grounded is not.

It may cause you a ground loop problem, or issues with safety, but it should still work. Maybe you could just ground it back to your electrical box somehow, just for that outlet?

Out of curiosity, do your outlets look the same as ours? Two vertical slits, and a round hole below the slits and in between them (this would be the ground in N.America.)
