View Full Version : Color space transcoder?

With the user and service menu controls on my display I can do gray scale, gamma, and color/tint(blue) calibration just fine. Unfortunately no CMS controls exist so I can not adjust for non-conforming primaries. However, the main offender (green) is outside the rec709 and rec601 gamuts so in theory I should be able to compensate for this by adjusting the color space and "fooling" the display into producing the correct color by adding a small amount of the other primaries to get the correct x,y location for "green". So my question is if there is an external device that does YCrCb to YCrCb transcoding where you can program in the right fudge factor to achieve this? Or am I just crazy?

I'm pretty sure you can make color adjustments of this sort with the Lumagen Vision line of video processors (and probably with other brands as well). I'm no expert, but would suggest you look in the video processor section of the forum or look through the info at Lumagen's web site.
