Anyone have more information on the upcoming (supposedly April release according to Widescreen Review) DVP-6080 processor by Faroudja and Meridian? It implements a 24 fps to 72 fps interpolation scheme to get rid of film motion judder.

Yeah, $26K, but its the only video processor that I know of that interpolates 24 fps to 48 or 72. I'd love to see how this looks - the descriptions of what it does to a film sound like a big leap forward.

They are working hard at it. I suspect it will be launched at Infocomm (remotely)or Cedia (for sure). My problem is that it may not be compatible with 12 bit dual dvi systems like the upcoming Barco ACS 2048 (will not accept that INPUT because it is not a Digital Cinema Standard).

I am sure the projector itself can produce the 72fps, as it is a 3-D optimized unit, it is just that having a 72 fps source is not envisioned by Barco.

Actually, that brings up a good point - would 1080p48 or 1080p72 require dual link DVI? Is it possible to transmit over HDMI?
