I have 4 units of Earthquake MKV-15P and need advise "how to set up 4 subs.". I'm planning to follow "Harman" white paper. Any special advise?

Thanks a bunch

Room EQ Wizard software ... it's free. you can get it at Home Theater Shack Forum

all you need is an external sound card
a PC/laptop
a mic
and some cables

this will give you the most bass improvement by showing you what happens when you move the subwoofer locations.

I remember reading an article by Tom Noisane where he experimented with different locations and different numbers of subs. I think he found 4 to be the ideal. Either in all 4 corners or all centered in walls. Maybe someone knows where that article is.

I use 4, but I can't do anything but stack them because of room restrictions.

I use four drivers. These are where they sound best.I use TrueRta. Any other place in the room brought out the worst in them.Centered under the center channel and out in the room was the best.

I've colocated two pairs in the front corners because of room restrictions. You may want to invest in an SMS-1 or two for the calibration / EQ.

I read the paper already and I have no problem to place each sub. at 4 corners or at center of 4 walls but I would like to get more details
1. I have only 1 LFE output. How to hook up all 4 subs.?
2. How to set up the volume of each sub? (I have sencore sp295) BD?
3. Crossover?
4. Time delay, distance

I have 3 subs hooked up to my LFE output without incident.

As for the crossover, 2 use LFE, and the other one was adjusted on the sub itself.

I also have one LFE out. I connect from the LFE to the Marchand BASSIS. "Y" out of that to the BFD (one to each input)(I use both channels) and "Y" out of each output channel to each QSC1450 (4 total)

The volumes are all set the same as they are all on the same plane.4 give you about 12db of headroom over 1.

Due to the close placement I can set XO to 100hz.There are no issues of sounds coming out of the sub and having location issues due the close placement.

If you search "Latency issues" http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=749030 we get some advice from Mark Seaton on this. His words often spell out much clearer than mine.

I found that 4 subs just wasn't cutting it for my bass requirements. I'm running six PB12 Ultra/2's and three PC Ultra tubes in my 12x12 living room with a 9 foot ceiling. Email me for a guide on how to set up four.

I don't think 6 PB12 Ultra2s would even physically fit in a 12x12 room, not even counting the 3 cylinders! :p

I think it was sarcasm, but it's more funny to think he was trying to mislead. :p

I used a SMS-1. Although the manual says you can only hookup 3 subs, customer support at Velodyne said I could do 4. Just use the XLR output. If your subs doesn't have balanced inputs, then you would need a XLR/RCA converter.

Check out Art Sonneborn's setup.

3 Triad in wall subwoofers
4 SVS PB12 plus/2's behind the screen!

I think those PB12 plus/2s have been replaced by Seaton Sound Submersives.
