Hey all,
I've owned the set since oct05 and it's been great. about 5 days ago I turned it on and got a horrible loud noise. A whir/buzz noise that went on and off continually. It would actually vibrate the set it was so loud.

The picture looked black and white and totally pixely/ugly/messed up.
Silly me looks in the manual and it says if you have 3 blinking lights (i do) then your bulb is blown. So I bought a bulb.
Didn't work.
edit: looked at it now. and to clarify, it has a picture. It is black and white and flickers a bit.

Could this be the color wheel?
I contacted Samsung they said I wasn't under warranty and needed to drive it 50 miles away to an orlando service place. Not giving me other options.

I'd like to just fix it myself but I'd like to identify the problem before buying parts.
If anyone could help out that'd be great.

edit: the samsung girl thought it was the fan. but the picture is without color so..?
