Hey Guys,

I was looking at these 2 PDPs. The only difference that i can tell is that the 5064 has a 2.0 USB and it resolution is 1024x768. Te 5054 is 1365X 768.

If the 5064 is better, then why is the res lower?

Chris, something is wrong with specs. ALL 50" 54's and 64's have 1366x768P just as ALL 42" have 1024x768P

The 5054 is like the 2006 5053 and the 5064 is like the 5073 (2006)

The new 84 series is 1920x1080P (5084)

it is strange, i got the specs from sammys website. So if its not the res as the main difference, then its simply the usb?

There's also the anti-glare screen. If I read it right, the 5054 has the same anti-glare treatment that the 2006 5073 has. The 5064 has a new version of the FliterBright screen treatment. I think.

Samsung's spec pages are usually filled with errors when they first post the new models on their sight. It probably has to do with a not-too-fluent Korean trying to translate their specs into English. Lee is correct with his analogy to last year's models. I looked at the 5064 spec sheet and it lists the model number as 50" but the description talks about a 42" while the dimensions are clearly for a 50" set. Both sets have a 1365x768 resolution. The 5064 has USB 2.0 and a new anti-glare filter. The 84 series is a completely new line, offering 1080p at sizes 50" and larger.

so its says msrp of 2999 for 5024, cc says 2500 so i guess the 5064 will be around 2800 - 3k.

I wonder who is going to carry the 64 cc will not.
