View Full Version : DigiTimes: Apple may delay Leopard release till October Ryan1 03-23-07, 06:19 PM Huh?!! Doesn't make much sense, but given the state of the current Beta, who knows.... http://www.appleinsider.com/article.php?id=2595 Kid Red 03-23-07, 06:28 PM Retarded. Already responded on engadget. Leopard is $129, times how many users? Boot camp can be updated at any point and time with 1 click. So, ah, a company would delays hundreds of thousands of dollars for SEVEN MONTHS to add support THAT WOULD SOME HOW REQUIRE SEVEN MONTHS to an app that can be updated at any time? Ah, no. Ryan1 03-23-07, 07:46 PM Plus (and I just thought of it:-(, I can already dual-boot into Vista. O.K., with some hacks and work-arounds, but it shouldn't be that difficult for Apple to fix those, way before October. There is, however, a sense that Leopard may still be some time away, because of the still shaky Beta. October is not all that far, if there are some fairly major additional changes which have to be implemented into the OS. Who knows, maybe come July, Apple will announce the "secret" features in a much more full-featured Beta, then ship in October. Just hope they don't delay hardware (HDMI, better graphics Mini:-) Kid Red 03-23-07, 07:57 PM Well, it won't stretch to October I'm sure, and betas are well, betas. Also, you figure they will announce it at a show. So whatever the next show or the one after that would be the logical launching point. They don't just drop it on the shelves like M$, they display and showcase it on stage for all to see and then announce availability. Not sure if there's a show in May but I think there's one in June. wildrock 03-23-07, 08:30 PM Apple's World Wide Developer Conference is June 11-15. They already have the whole thing focused on Leopard. It will be released by then. Or else a lot of people at Apple will lose their Jobs' jobs. |
